WHERE IS YOUR FAVOURITE BURGER?

Burger Brothers

Um, so the burger place is called Burger Brothers. It's a tiny little burger restaurant in, uh, the bottom of North Road. There's quite a few little restaurants around and it's very unassuming. You'd never even know it was there. It's a well kept secret in Brighton - you have to know about it, or you've googled best burgers in Brighton to find it. It does not look like anything from the outside, and that's part of the charm.

Imagine like a take away counter. It's literally just a wooden counter with a serving hatch and maybe three or four stools off to the right. It's the most quaint and unassuming place. It's just not somewhere you'd sit. You don't go there to sit down and eat.

I suppose the USP is the fact that they're literally just two brothers that have opened a tiny little (almost secret) burger restaurant and it almost feels quite cool to go there. Like a speakeasy. Almost like you have to be friends with someone that knows about it. I mean that and the fact that they use really high quality local produce.

The burgers themselves are also just pretty massive. For someone like me, I quite like big food so pretty perfect. They are the definition of a stacked burger. Like, some of these must be nearly a foot high.

My favourite burger is probably, the one called "Our Favourite Burger". That's literally what it's called. It's just...it's delicious. The burgers are always cooked really, really well. Like, they're always really juicy. Looking at the pictures, you would say they're messy, but because they obviously stake them to keep them together, but they tend to be quite unsloppy or runny. Obviously, you have to take it apart because it's a foot tall. So you can't just pick it up and eat it in one bite.

And the secret sauce is obviously secret, but it tastes delicious. Couldn't tell you what's in it. It's a cross between like a burger sauce and like a spicy. But it just tastes really nice, like, very, very good. The burger itself has got creamy goat's cheese, roasted peppers, honey mustard, secret sauce, caramelised onion and creamy cajun sauce. In fact, it's probably the combination of the creamy sauce and the Cajun sauce and the sweet and the secret sauce that gives it a spicy taste.

Delightful.

OUR OTHER FAVOURITE BURGERS IN BRIGHTON...

7BONE

Originally in Hove and now in 7 sites this is a great place to sit down in. It is more than just burgers as they also do a large selection of Chicken and also sandos. The decor is much what is to be expected from an American style diner with neon signs and bright lights, red leather booths and vintage style prints dotted around the dark blue walls. Just taking a look at their ‘provisionals’ or starters will get you hooked. Pregame your ‘Frankie Says Rilassare’ or ‘Donnie J Trump’ burgers with a serving of chicken fried olives or ‘coq skins’ which are their aptly named chicken skin crisps.

MARTINS BURGER HOUSE

This is a very very small and local place for a quick bite to eat. Good quality burgers that also travel well for delivery. Expect your standard, classic burgers with fries or something else. Either way you'll be pretty pleased with a meal from this cheaper burger house!

SOCIAL BOARD

Social Board may be known for their sandwiches and café-style breakfasts, but don’t let this fool you. They also have a brilliant selection of burgers and fries that will keep you going for hours. Using 100% locally sourced beef and vegetables, as well as freshly baked buns, Social Board is the perfect place to grab a bite. With a couple of variations on the beloved beef burger, as well as a chicken burger, and a halloumi burger, you’ll be able to enjoy local produce turned into a mouth-watering meal.

Their meat is locally sourced and 100% grass fed, and they make a special effort to ensure that there are no additives or preservatives in any of their tasty creations meaning they are all natural. Buttermilk chicken burgers with anything from tzatziki to bourbon infused bacon jam, and high-quality beef joined by grilled jalapeños and peanut and lime sauce; Primal Burgers is the place to be if you want a traditional burger with a fun twist.
