Sessions is excited to reveal that Eddie Huang, the American author, TV personality, director and chef, will launch his iconic Taiwanese steam bun shop concept, Baohaus, in a 13-week residency in both its new Islington venue, Neighbourhood, and Brighton’s Shelter Hall, as well as home delivery available across the Capital.
Baohaus will be serving up its pillowy buns and other Taiwanese street favourites in Neighbourhood from May 26th. Eddie has crafted an exclusive menu to celebrate his UK launch, which will showcase many of Baohaus’ signature dishes that became so famous in NYC. Dishes will include:
Chairman Bao - Braised all-natural pork belly served with Haus relish, crushed peanuts, Taiwanese red sugar and cilantro
Birdhaus Bao - Fried chicken brined for 24 hours served with lemon-garlic aioli, Haus seasoning salt, crushed peanuts, Taiwanese red sugar and cilantro.
Manager’s Meal – Red cooked pork belly, minced pork stew and Birdhaus fried chicken served with Haus relish and cilantro.
With the launch of Baohaus in New York’s East Village in 2009, Eddie helped lay the cultural and culinary groundwork for future Taiwanese restaurants in the city. Eddie went on to open a second location in LA, but it was clear that food was just part of Huang’s vision when he went on to become a New York Times Bestseller in 2013 with the release of his memoir, Fresh off the Boat, which was turned into an ABC sitcom. Eddie has also been a successful show host with Snack Off (MTV) and Huang’s World (Viceland). In 2021 Eddie wrote and directed the coming-of-age movie, Boogie, and more recently he launched his relationship podcast, Separate Bedrooms with his wife Natashia.
This collaboration with Eddie Huang represents the second international name that Sessions has brought to its venues and delivery kitchens, following the launch of Ivan Orkin’s (aka Ivan Ramen) hugely popular residency in March.
